Following the great success of its previous editions, you Sh0t the Sheriff security conference will be happening on May, 16th, 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

During the past few years, InfoSec became a really broad / multidisciplinary industry. Due to this natural evolution, security events and conferences all over the globe usually focus on certain areas that won't be necessarily of everyones interest.

This could make it really hard to target two very distinct areas in infosec: the one which involves mostly hands-on, focused in tools and techniques for exploiting products, procedures and different technologies; and, on the flip-side, the one which mostly deals with management, policies, standards and non-technical procedures.

Some of the reasons for such diversity, might include the separation of duties inside a corporation (or even in the infosec world itself). All of these pieces (sometimes very disconnected) form one single puzzle: the reality of the Infosec community.

Once we realized how far apart these segments actually were in the Brazilian community, and sometimes how people simply choose to just totally ignore the other side of the story, we decided to put together a very unique security con.

Bringing to the same stage the best of all segments of the infosec world is the main objetive of You Sh0t the Sheriff, with the best in the industry presenting and allowing people to interact, learn and network.

A conference that will probably not change your life, but will certainly open your eyes to what's happening on the side that usually you try to ignore, and, make you wonder how other people and youself are actually contributing to the infosec market.
